Madibaz Swim Meet

GALA RULES & PROCEDURES:

• The gala will be run in accordance with Swimming South Africa rules.

Only SSA registered swimmers will be allowed to compete

• FINA rules will govern

• Age on 13th August 2022 will determine the age group a swimmer may

enter

• Swimmers may compete in their own age group only

• Individual age groups as follows: 8&U (50m free, 50m breast, 50m back)

9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15&16 and 17&O.

• Relay age groups as follows: 10&U, 12 &U, 13&14 and 15&O

• Mixed Ladder relay: 10&U,11,12,13,14,15&O (3 boys and 3 girls)

• In individual events, swimmers may swim in their age group only

• In relays, swimmers may swim up an age group but may only swim ONE

age group per event

• Long distance events (400m free, 200m fly and 800m free) age groups as

follows: 14&U and 15&O

• Swimmers may enter as many events as they wish

• All events will be swum as timed finals. Swimmers failing to submit entry

times will swim in the slower heats

• The one start rule will apply

• Heats may be combined should there not be sufficient entries in an age

group

• Medals/awards will be given to the top three swimmers in each event

according to the age group on the programme

• Medals/awards will be awarded to the relay teams

• There will be a trophy for the Victor & Victrix Ludorum as well as the top

club according to the points at the end of the gala

• The referee’s decision is final
